Council met on Friday, December 12, 2025, for a regularly scheduled meeting. During this meeting, Council approved three motions that were brought forward by the Audit/Finance/Risk and Quality Assurance committees. Below is more information about the meeting:
Audit/Finance/Risk
Council approved the following motions from the Audit/Finance/Risk committee:
- The proposed 2026 budget
- The proposed 2026 reserve funds
Quality Assurance
Council approved the following motion from the Quality Assurance committee with amendments:
- Professional Advisory: Access to Eye Care for Indigenous Persons in Ontario
During the meeting, the President recognized Dr. William Ulakovic for his many years of service on Council and thanked him for his contributions to the profession. Council listened to a presentation from Surrey Place to learn how to interact with patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities as optometrists.
