The College asks for the return of the Certificate of Registration when a member resigns, or we revoke their membership. The College will also ask for the return of the Certificate of Authorization when we revoke or close a COA. Why does the College ask for the return of these Certificates?

The College asks for these Certificates to be returned to follow best administrative practices and to protect College registrants from fraudulent use of their certificates. The College needs to verify that revoked or closed Certificates are not held by unauthorized users, since the certificates do not have an expiration date.
