Council met on Friday, December 13, 2024, for a regularly scheduled meeting. During this meeting, Council approved five motions that were brought forward by the Audit/Finance/Risk and Registration committees. Read more below:
Audit/Finance/Risk
Council approved the following motions from the Audit/Finance/Risk committee:
- The proposed 2025 budget
- The proposed general reserve funds for 2025
- The revised allocation of internally restricted funds
- Finance Policy – Fee Review
Registration
Council approved the following motion from the Registration committee:
- The Additional Credential Policy, and the use of the following designations or their historical equivalents:
– For ABO: Diplomate, American Board of Optometry, or Dipl. ABO or Board Certified, American Board of Optometry
– For OVDR: FOVDRA
During the meeting, the President recognized Dr. Richard Kniaziew and Dr. Dino Mastronardi for their many years of service on Council. The next Council meeting is set for Friday, January 10, 2025, when we will hold the Executive Elections. Council meetings are open to the public via YouTube livestream.
