Council met on Friday, September 19, 2025, for a regularly scheduled meeting. During this meeting, Council approved six motions that were brought forward by the Audit/Finance/Risk, Quality Assurance and Registration committees. Read more below:
Audit/Finance/Risk
Council approved the following motion from the Audit/Finance/Risk committee:
- Amendments to the Honoraria and Expense and Reserve Funds policies
Quality Assurance
Council approved the following motions from the Quality Assurance committee:
- Quality Assurance Policy – Direct Optometric Care Hours Requirements
- Amendments to the Continuing Education (CE) Policy 2024-2026
Registration
Council approved the following motions from the Registration committee:
- The 2025 OEBC written exam and OSCE as the standards assessment examination for registration purposes
- The 2025 Jurisprudence exam for registration purposes
- Updated Non-Practising Status Policy
During the meeting, Council listened to a presentation regarding the College’s financial portfolio.
