QA Framework: Why, How, What

The "What, Why, and How" of the Quality Assurance framework

At its core is the why: public protection. It guides every initiative and decision to ensure optometrists practice in a safe, competent way.

The how is a data-driven approach that identifies gaps, risks, and needs.

The what highlights key initiatives that help optometrists meet the demands of changing practice environments and patient needs. For example, practice assessments are risk-informed and tailored to support safe, competent care. Another example is a continuous feedback loop, where data is collected to identify risks and trends early so we can respond proactively and feed insights back into how we improve the QA Program. This framework keeps the focus on what matters most—supporting ongoing competence and protecting the public.
