Council Meeting Highlights – June 24, 2022
Council met in a hybrid environment on June 24, 2022. During this Council meeting Council received Diversity, Equity and Inclusion training, and also approved several key items that have important implications to governance for Council as well as the College’s work over the next three years.
Financial Matters
Council approved the audited financial statements for the fiscal year ending on December 31, 2021, as presented by the College financial auditors, BDO Canada. The approved statements will be included in the College’s Annual Report, which will be published in the next month.
Registration
Council approved the three exams that will be used to test applicants who are applying to the College. The approved exams include the OEBC, NBEO and Jurisprudence exams.
Strategic Plan
The College held a strategic planning retreat where staff and Council worked together with a facilitator to form a new Strategic Plan. Council approved the new Strategic Plan which is set to guide our work for the next three years.
Clinical Practice Panel
Council approved an update to the OPR section 4.7 Infection Control in the Optometric Office.
